"Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere is going behind the camera as producer of the new CW show "HMS." This will be the first producing credit for the 20-year-old.

"HMS" follows students at the competitive Harvard Medical School and will be written by "Mystic Pizza's" Amy Holden Jones.

The Hollywood Reporter says Jones first developed "HMS" for the WB a few years back. The script was introduced to the CW, which had been looking to launch a medical drama.

Once again displaying her love of big animals, Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere attended a benefit at Eva Longoria's restaurant Beso in Los Angeles on Friday for the Whaleman Foundation.

The organization, for which Hayden serves as a spokesperson, is dedicated to preserving and protecting dolphins, whales and other ocean-dwellers.

While sticking up for the critters, Panettiere showed off a totally bangin' new 'do. PICKS ON THE WAY!

Hayden Panettiere found kissing a girl "exciting".

The 20-year-old actress had no problem locking lips with Madeline Zima, who plays Hayden's character Claire Bennet's roommate Gretchen Berg on US TV show 'Heroes', as she thinks it's something lots of girls do.

Hayden said: "It's very exciting! When you are young, you experiment and you have fun. It truly is a person that she just falls in love with, because she fulfills her and she is her best friend."
Hayden was so keen to shoot the sexy scene, which aired in America last night (12.10.09), she suggested it to script writers.

She explained: "I kind of threw it out there. The writers put you in relationships and I was like, 'Can I just be with a girl or something? Let's do that.' So they took it and ran with it."

Hayden has previously spoken about her own lesbian experiences, admitting she "experimented" with her female pals when she was younger.

She said: "It's great to be single. It's great to have boyfriends. Or girlfriends. There are occasions when you kiss your best friend growing up, having fun and goofing about. Like perfecting your technique."

Paris Hilton jumped out of a cake at her boyfriend's birthday party.

The blonde socialite threw the surprise party for Doug Reinhardt at her Beverly Hills mansion on Saturday (17.10.09) and wore a sexy hot pink outfit and a black diamond mask as she burst out of the giant-sized sweet treat.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Paris went all out for her man's birthday. No expense was spared. He had no idea about the party and was so happy."

Paris was so keen to impress 'The Hills' star - who she reunited with in the summer when he whisked her away on a romantic break to Fiji - she organised for rap group Three 6 Mafia and hip-hop star Ya Boy to perform for partygoers.

Guests including Hollywood beauties Hayden Panettiere and Kristanna Loken, partied until 3am at the nightclub Paris has built in her home, while home videos of the couple were screened throughout the mansion.
