As excited as most of us are for the film, I think it needs to be said that disappointment is imminent here. Think about it : Kevin Williamson, who wrote the first two "Scream" films, was fired from this one about 3 weeks into filming - only to be replaced by Ehren Kruger, the gun-for-hire behind the abysmal "Scream 3" (suggesting either significant cost cutting on the production or Bob and Harvey's keenness not to make a movie less like the witty, somewhat suspenseful first two "Scream" movies and something more playful and jokey like "Scream 3"); cast members were leaving as early as two days into the production (Lauren Graham's quick exit was rather odd); rumours have surfaced that some of the actors involved (including Hayden Panettiere) aren't happy with changes that have been made to the script or his or her characters, and based on his "I don't have control over the script" tweet from a few weeks back, Wes Craven's not entirely happy with how things are going either.
Hayden Panettiere celebrated her 21st birthday all over again on Friday - partying with pals in New York.
The actress reached the milestone on Aug. 21 and marked the occasion with a spectacular bash on the Detroit, Michigan set of her new movie Scream 4 - complete with fireworks and a three-foot dolphin birthday cake.
But Panettiere wasn't satisfied with the festivities and jetted back to her native New York this weekend so she could enjoy a more low-key birthday bash with old friends.
The star was spotted feasting on tacos and burritos and downing cheap cocktails and shots with eight pals at Mexican restaurant Blockheads in Manhattan on Friday night.
A fellow diner tells WENN, "It wasn't a very showbizzy gathering and Blockheads isn't exactly a celebrity hang-out. But Hayden looked like she was having a great time. The party was pretty rowdy, with lots of laughing and joking. But nobody minded. She was even treated to a rendition of Happy Birthday by all the waiters, who brought her out some cake. Everyone in the restaurant joined in."
There was one conspicuous absentee - Panettiere's giant boxer beau Wladimir Klitschko. The onlooker adds, "She did look like she was missing her boyfriend. She was on her iPhone every five minutes, checking for messages from him."
Sneak peak at Hayden's new Alpha and Omega clip starring with Justin Long
Alpha and Omega arrives in theaters September 17 in full 3D animation starring the vocal talents of Hayden Panettiere, Christina Ricci, Justin Long and the late Dennis Hopper.
We’ve got an exclusive clip to whet the appetites of audiences of the story of two wolves who are shipped across the country by mistaken park rangers and are determined to find their way home. Alpha and Omega paints itself as a road trip movie.
Kate (Hayden Panettiere) and Humphrey (Justin Long) are the titular wolves. Humphrey is an Omega wolf, eager to have a good time and always quick with a joke. Kate is the Alpha wolf in this pack -- all business. The pair makes a motley crew as they set their sets on finding their way home.
Along the way, they meet a myriad of characters including a golfing goose and his duck caddy, a porcupine with serious attitude and a bear that has a thing against wolves. Should they survive the trip home, trouble awaits them as a rival wolf pack is causing a stir that threatens to destroy the peace between the packs.
The Alpha and Omega cast also includes Danny Glover of Leather Weapon fame and Larry Miller from 10 Things I Hate About You.
